About Debbi Chocolate
Debbi Chocolate is the author of
several books for children,
including
Talk, Talk:  An Ashanti
Legend,
winner of the Parents'
Choice Award;  
My First Kwanzaa
Book; The Piano Man,
winner of a
Coretta Scott King Award/John
Steptoe Award;
Kente Colors; Imani
in the Belly; N.E.A.T.E. To the
Rescue!;
and Pigs Can Fly!  She is a
graduate of Spelman College and
Brown University. Her books have
been featured on
Reading Rainbow
Television and
Sesame Street.  A
former editor of books for children
and former faculty member at
Chicago's Columbia College where
she taught
How to Write a Picture

and Writing the Young Adult
Novel
. Ms. Chocolate lives in a
suburb of Chicago with her
husband, Bob Chocolate, and her
two sons, Bobby and Allen Whitney
